Yesterday was beautiful 😎. Today we got snow❄️🥶. Only one thing is for certain: constant change 🔄.
And though we fret and fuss when things go south, change is always an opportunity!
Not that I was singing songs of joy last week when the hives swarmed and I had to climb trees to get them down (and cussing up a blue streak).
But I learned new skills, made some new friends, and I’m much better prepared for the next time this happens.
As your Medicare Insurance Broker, though I’ve been doing this for two decades, every week, I run into a new challenges that make me go ” hmmm”:
- Unresolvable billing issues (despite multiple calls)
- Provider network confusion
- Unexpected paperwork issues
- Changing drug costs
- A benefit that sounded better in the brochure than it works in real life

Medicare is full of moving parts, and my job is to help clients make sense of them before small surprises become big problems.
Your life is also full of moving parts, and your job is to stay flexible, keep your balance, and make the best decisions you can as things change.
Our exchange student Miti from Madagascar has taught us to look at EVERYTHING with fresh eyes.
When you come from an orphanage, from the fourth poorest nation on earth, and you spend a year observing all of the abundance we have in the United States… well, it’s a great reminder for me of how fortunate we are to be where we are, and to always remember to give thanks.
In no way do I wish to minimize the suffering that exists in our country, but compared to billions living in other nations, as my father-in-law always says, we’ve already won the lottery.
The night before the storm, I put up this old umbrella to protect as many of the cherry blossoms as possible (and we also covered the beehives).
Like life, these gesture are imperfect at best. But every day, we start fresh and the choice is always ours:
- Help others
- Be kind
- Do your best
- Laugh at everything
Now get out there and get living, the clock is ticking, the choice is always yours.
