🌹👃Would it really hurt to stop and smell the roses? 🧠✨

Hey there … may this blog find you smiling, with your Medicare insurance working well, without burying your nose in unnecessary paperwork.

Questions about Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, or the name of this flower🤔?  Email Gray@TheBig65.com or book a time on my calendar and we’ll do our best to help (it’s a lilac🪻).

My brothers flew in from Virginia for the weekend. It’s always great to hang with the people you love and visit the places you don’t normally go.

Two men smelling a bush.

The sun was shining so we decided to visit the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Three people walking through the gardens.

We know human connection, sunshine, and nature are good for the soul and great for the brain… but did you know that smelling things is actually great for your brain?

Your heart rate slows, your nervous system shifts, and your mood lifts… Your brain… starts doing exactly what it was built to do.”  Being outside and using your senses of vision, smell, touch, and hearing wake up the brain and actually makes us healthier.

A bright red flower.

Multiple medical reviews have concluded that being outside and taking in the scents of nature can trigger memories and increase positive emotion and reduce negative mood states.

Plus, the body was built to be outside.

A few weeks back, I wrote about a study that concluded that healthy adults ages 60 to 85 who were exposed to rotating scents at night for six months showed striking improvement in verbal memory and better function in a memory-related brain pathway.

Simple things we can do to stay sharp are definitely worth exploring.

As we move into some of the most enjoyable weather of the year, take time to get outside, to wander and wonder in the beauty of nature, and to spend time with the people you love.

Our Malagasi exchange student, Miti, had her last soccer game of the year. Plato and I had a great time cheering. She’ll be returning home in eight weeks, her year in America is almost over.

Our time above ground is short; make the most of everyday! Get out there and smell the roses!

Keep asking,  “What’s the next big thing?”

If family or friends need help… referrals are the lifeblood of my business.
