Malagasi Greetings … may this blog find you in remarkable health, with your Medicare insurance working well and all your bags in plain sight!
Questions about your Medigap Supplement Insurance, Medicare Advantage Plans, or how many hours Mitia and I just traveled? (42 door to door).
Email Gray@TheBig65.com or book a time on my calendar if you or your friends and family need help with Medicare planning. We’ll do our best to help.
After many delays, we made it back to Madagascar. Mitia’s year in the U.S.A. as an exchange student is now a memory, can you believe it?
We know that Mitia will miss many thing about life in Colorado, and she is also happy to be with her sisters again as she prepares for her final year of high school.
We met Mitia’s extended family with whom she spends her summers when the school year at the orphanage ends. The Malagasis are kind and loving people.
We will continue to stay connected to Mitia and her life at the orphanage. We will keep you updated on her progress as she prepares for University after this final year of high school.
Madagascar is one of the most unique places on earth. The baobab trees are hundreds of years old and when you leave the capital, you will see stars like you’ve never seen before.
You also see animals like the fossa, Madagascar’s top predator, a distant ancestor of the mongoose.
And you can’t forget about the lemurs … that’s what most people come to see.
Though our nation has many challenges, Madagascar reminds me to be grateful for everything: family, paved roads, public education, grocery stores, street lights, electricity, flushable toilets with toilet paper, and all the things we take for granted.
Whenever Mitia heard us speaking about the problems we face in the US, her answer was always the same:
“Problems? What problems?“
Now that we are here, in one of the poorest countries in the world, I understand her perspective.
So… if you EVER catch me complaining about ANYTHING, or if you find yourself in a funk about some small thing, remember Mitia, remember Madagascar. Let’s give thanks for what we have and look for ways to help others.
Keep asking, “What’s the next big thing?”
If family or friends need help… referrals are the lifeblood of my business.
