After spending a few days in the capital of Madagascar, my Air Force son Nicholas and I are exploring a few of the national parks in one of the remotest countries in the world.
This is the first time in ten plus years that I’ve taken a full week off without appointments, and it sure has been amazing to spend unstructured time with Nicholas.
But don’t worry, I’ll be back in the office on Sunday!
Meanwhile, off in Spain, my wife Quantz and our daughter Susanna are fulfilling a bucket list adventure themselves: hiking the Camino de Santiago in record heat.
Q tells me they’ve been rising at 4:30 AM to get in their miles (9-15 a day) before it gets too hot. Keep going!
Remember that if you have Medicare coverage, most Medicare Supplements and Medicare Advantage Plans offer worldwide emergency coverage (not routine care.)
You’ll be responsible for the costs up front. Be sure to get receipts and submit them to the carrier when you get home (and feel free to email Gray, Gray@TheBig65.com, if you need our help.)
Just remember that if you go to a remote location, evacuation is typically not covered, so consider adding insurance like Squaremouth or Blue Cross to make sure you get home safely.
