How do your habits make you feel? đŸ€”

Hey there … may this blog find you well and not losing your head 😂 over your Medicare insurance.

If you haven’t yet reviewed your Annual Notice of Changes for your Part D drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan, contact your carrier and get a copy of the changes for 2027.  Take a look at those changes before reaching out to us.

If you’d like us to review your coverage for 2027, please start by emailing Gray at Gray@TheBig65.com.

Gray will update your medications, doctors, and current plan information so that we can review everything before you schedule a meeting.

This helps us make sure that when we do meet, we’re prepared and can use your time efficiently.

We promise đŸ€ to help all of our existing clients with the Medicare madness—and any friends or family you send our way—who need assistance with Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement coverage.

Can you believe September is almost gone?

When we travel, my regular fitness routine goes out the window.

The good news is I always end up getting in plenty of steps …

Like on Tuesday, we couldn’t get a taxi and I ended up walking two miles to the port with our luggage so I wouldn’t miss the boat.

I made plans to meet up with my wife, Quantz, in Malta, sixty miles due south of Sicily.

Though I sweated like crazy and just barely made it on time, the hustle reminded me of a New York Times article on how staying healthy doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

The wake behind a boat in the blue sea.

As consumers, we are constantly bombarded with expensive longevity hacks that promise the moon.

The reality is, we can stay healthy and live longer by doing the same things our ancestors have been doing since time out of mind.

We don’t need a gym. Thirty minutes of walking daily lowers cardiovascular risk.

Aim for 150 minutes of moderate activity a week (or 75 minutes of vigorous activity). Consider adding some strength work (remember my luggage?).

Some activity beats no activity, even if you are part of the tourist zombie apocalypse.

Throngs of people packed together walking down a pathway.

Eat real food and skip the expensive supplement stacks.

The Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet, diets built on whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean proteins, have strong evidence that they can keep you healthy.

Frozen proteins and produce are nutritious, and they are more affordable than overpriced supplements.

Let’s be clear:  this doesn’t mean supplements are never useful!  For documented deficiencies, of course they are useful.

Just remember, for otherwise healthy folks, taking supplements has not produced consistently better major health outcomes.

Other tips include getting seven hours of sleep, building optimism, and staying connected.

Wherever we are, I am always talking with clients and that keeps me on my toes.

Equally important, talking to my brothers and our children keeps me connected, and connection reduces depression and makes us happier.

Biological age tests are not precise.  A better check is: How do your habits make you feel? đŸ€”

If your habits make you feel younger, happier, healthier, and smarter, keep doing them!

The Apostle Paul was shipwrecked 🌊 on the island of Malta nearly 2,000 years ago, and he kept going. All lives are filled with sadness and with joy.

It’s never just what happens to us; it’s usually how we choose to respond.

Remember, the aim in life is to live better, not just longer. Live a life of service, stay curious, help others, laugh as much as you can, and keep going.

Keep squeezing the juice out of life!
