Clients all over have been reporting the intense winter weather: snow, freezing temps, and slippery roads.
My little brother Haas in Virginia is proof you don’t have to let winter get in the way of staying healthy, though he did have to break the ice on the water before jumping in.
While Plato stays with our daughter and her pets Kali the cat and Elwood in Colorado, I am reminded that there is a middle ground between ice baths and hibernation.
Walking in winter is a fantastic way to stay active, boost your mood, and improve your overall wellness.
Boost Your Physical Health: Walking improves cardiovascular health, burns calories, and keeps your muscles active even in the cold.
This week, we were hiking in the mountains of Mexico to try to see the monarch butterflies. It was too cold for them to be active but it sure was pretty.
Brighten Your Mood: Natural light during winter walks helps combat seasonal blues and improves mental clarity.
Stay Safe and Warm: Layer up, wear sturdy footwear, and pick clear, safe walking paths to enjoy the season without worries.
Take It Indoors: If it’s too cold outside, consider walking in indoor spaces like malls, community centers, or even around your home.
Just as the monarch butterfly endures its incredible journey to emerge stronger and more vibrant, embrace the challenges of winter as an opportunity for growth and renewal, knowing that brighter days are ahead.
Keep squeezing the juice out of life and look for ways to help others!
If family or friends need help… referrals are the lifeblood of my business.
